A first-year introduction to CAD in the studio. Technical and creative, this course explores the possibilities of the industry standard as a tool of expression in new and exploratory ways.
Assignment 1: Line Interaction
This is an introduction to the CAD properties of line weights. Inspired from Johanne Itten's foundation courses at the Bauhaus, the line is explored in an iterative process, later to be hybridized with manual pencil lines.
Project 3: Cut, Paste, Burn
Students take plans and elevations inspired from their colleagues, and proceed to interpret the drawing into a 3D space. What transpires is a creative partnership as client and designer.
